The Library

Sometimes your first response is the right response. I remember hearing that in high school and it applies a lot to my artwork. While I had no problems with the little Dragon monk in this piece, the Phoenix mentor gave me a headache. I had a good sketch, but the painting kept going in different directions, particularly her face. Finally I decided to scrap what I had and redo the face to match the sketch I was so happy with. Much better.
